My grandma works as a chef at a Christian summer camp called Hidden Acres, and for several summers I volunteered there after I was old enough to help. I worked in the kitchen and helped to prepare meals for the campers, refugee children, and staff. It gave me a sense of fulfillment knowing I was supporting a positive environment that was filled with so much joy. This experience allowed me to give back to the community by supporting a space where people could learn, have fun, and form meaningful connections. Volunteering at the camp not only taught me the value of hard work and teamwork but also gave me a strong sense of fulfillment from knowing that my efforts were helping others.

We sold mulch to raise money, and on pickup day I volunteered to help with processing orders and assisting customers to ensure they received the correct items. This was a drive-thru event, so part of my job was to direct people to the correct line for the type of mulch they purchased. Pickup lasted all day, and we had hundreds of people come in. This event, Mulchapalooza, helped to raise money for our program, and fund expenses throughout the year.
